Dr. Lauren's bio:

As a mother of two, an educator, and a neurodiverse adult, the principles that drive Think Dyslexia were inspired and created from all of those experiences. Let me introduce myself so we can get to know each other better.

Let's get the credentials out of the way first! I earned my Doctor of Education in Teaching, Learning, Leadership, & Curriculum from Northeastern University. I hold a dual master's in Special Education and Elementary Education from Syracuse University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Syracuse University. I am a certified Orton-Gillingham trained practitioner through the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA) and a certified Educational Therapist through the Association of Educational Therapists (AET). But most importantly, my passion for educating, advocating, and bringing awareness to dyslexia at the domestic and international levels began in the elementary classrooms of private schools serving students with language-based learning disabilities in 2011.

I have been a Special Educator for over a decade, and I chose the special education path due to my struggles in school growing up. I deeply understood the academic and social-emotional struggles of students who learned in a non-traditional setting and wanted to make an impact in my way.

In June 2022, I embarked on the entrepreneur journey and built Think Dyslexia LLC. While building my business, I partner with various education companies where I deliver training and professional development to teachers and administrators at the district level focusing on dyslexia awareness, dyslexia screening, and MTSS. I have worked with over 30 school districts at the national and international levels leading educators and leaders to success. I am excited to help you become the best version of yourself as a teacherpreneur in this journey. Join me every Monday for 15 minutes to learn more!
